OVIWC MISSION

OVIWC is a Tribally-led organization in the Owens Valley and Eastern Sierra working toward healthy homelands for our communities here in Payahuunadü. For the past 35 years, we have advocated for land, water, and life and OVIWC now collectively stewards 10 acres of our ancestral homeland and water rights.

PROMOTING & PROTECTING OUR WATER, LAND AND ENVIRONMENT

We work together with Payahuunadü Tribes to advance self-sufficiency and sovereignty, assist in securing just water rights settlements that include land acquisition, protect and promote culture and traditions, preserve and restore land and habitat, and improve water quality and environmental and human health conditions, as well as increase water supply, sustainability and food security, and Indigenous farming and ranching in the Owens Valley and Eastern Sierra.
